Outreach

Christian Appalachian Project - In the majority of counties we serve, over a third of the population live in poverty, and when crisis hits, they often need a helping hand to get throgh the tough times. CAP's Outreach programs help people by addressing immediate physical and emotional needs. Each year assistance is provided to thousands of individuals and families in various stages of crisis.

Outreach seeks to lesson the brunt of proverty through special assistance programs through programs like CAP's Christmas Basket efforts that distributes gifts from donors to participants during the holiday season, the Garden Seed program that distributes gardening supplies to hundreds of families to supliment the diets, and the School Readiness program that distributes school supplies and a new outfit to over a thousand disadvantaged children in the Appalachian region.

Working in conjunction with Family Life Counseling, the program is able to offer individual and family counseling to the participants, and they are also able to increase their educational and work skills through participation in Adult Education/School on Wheels, and Jobstart.
